We gathered with the folks from Camdenton, MO Christian Church to float the Niangua from Bennett downstream. I did solo in a kayak and enjoyed it. The pastor of the church is a family friend and former youth in one of the groups I led in the early 1990s. Rita and I camped at Hidden Valley just outside Bennett Springs State Park. Brought back good memories of church float trips of the 1970s, 80s, and 90s.

We camped at Echo Bluff and met with Cousin Laura and family for a wonderful float on the Current River from Akers to Pulltite. It was a perfect float day and late summer weather. Laura and family stayed to night at the E.B. Motel.

October 21, 2022 Truman State Park - Niangua River Trip
You would think canoeing the same river would get old, but the river is always changing yet the same. It is like driving your favorite and familiar road. Today's float highlights were the fall colors; plentiful and beautiful! And a resting eagle!
